Warnings
Users must read, understand, and follow all the safety warnings listed and included with our products before the products are used. All Working Load Limits (WLL), Safe Working Load Limits (SWL), and safety ratings must never be exceeded. DO NOT use any webbing, straps, tarp straps, sling assemblies, rubber products, or cargo control product in any application where it may be cut or damaged. All webbing, straps, tarp straps, sling assemblies, rubber products and cargo control products must be protected when used on or over corners, edges and rough or sharp objects. All items require inspection before every use. Webbing, straps, tarp straps, sling assemblies, rubber products and cargo control products that are cut, worn or damaged in any way must NOT be used. All assemblies or parts are only as strong as their weakest link, including the point of attachment. All users should consult their state’s Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) office for regulations and rules on cargo securement before any item is used.
Failure to comply with ALL safety warnings and regulations may result in serious injury, cargo damage, or death. Our products are used entirely at the users own risk. Use of our products demonstrates understanding of the warnings and risks involved.
RUBBER OR EPDM TARP STRAP WARNINGS:
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS WARNING MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY, DEATH, OR CARGO DAMAGE.
- Tarp Straps are designed solely to hold tarps in place. Tarp straps should not be used for restraining or securing cargo.
- Tarp Straps should not be used for any lifting, raising, or lowering applications.
- Discard any or all Tarp Straps with nicks, cuts, cracks, or if the “S” Hooks are bent, damaged or corroded. Do not replace the hook with any hook of inferior quality.
- Eye protection during connection and disconnection of tarp straps is required. Keep both feet firmly on the ground and position body out of the potential strap rebound path.
- Tarp Strap should not be stretched to more than 50% of the original length. Over tensioning may cause the tarp strap to break causing serious injury or death.
- Tarp Straps should not be anchored around sharp edges or pulled over any abrasive surfaces.
- Sudden rupture or sudden disconnection of a tarp strap while it is in the stretched position may cause serious personal injury or death.
- Protect tarp straps from exposure to heated environments and hot surfaces.
- User should always fasten tarp straps to a load in a clear space which is free of any moving vehicles or objects.
RUBBER ROPE & SHOCK CORD WARNINGS:
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS WARNING MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY, DEATH, OR CARGO DAMAGE.
- Inspect rubber rope and/or shock cord before each use! DO NOT use if the surface is cut, cracked, abraded or if any surface defects are visible.
- When pulling, always wear eye protection; keep both feet firmly on the ground; keep other vulnerable body parts away from the potential rebound path.
- Avoid hot surfaces, sharp edges, abrasive surfaces and/or contaminations with solvents when using rubber rope and/or shock cord.
- Rubber rope and/or shock cord should not be tied into knots or joined by knotting.
- DO NOT stretch rubber rope and/or shock cord for more than 100% of original length.
- Rubber rope and/or shock cord should not be used for any lifting, raising, lowering or suspending applications.
WEBBING STRAP ASSEMBLY WARNINGS
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS WARNING MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY, DEATH, OR CARGO DAMAGE.
- Inspect the entire webbing strap assembly before each use. DO NOT use if there are signs of damage, including, but not limited to holes, tears, cuts, frays, snags or broken/worn stitching in the webbing. Or if buckles and/or end fittings are damaged, deformed, corroded or if any nicks, cracks or gouges exist in the webbing strap assembly.
- Avoid anchoring webbing strap assemblies around sharp edges or pulling over any potentially abrasive surfaces. Corner protectors should be used in accordance with the law and recommended standards of the Web Sling & Tie Down Association (WSTDA).
- Exposure to the environment, such as extreme temperatures and/or chemicals, can cause damage to webbing strap assemblies.
- DO NOT attempt to repair webbing strap assemblies. If damage or defect is discovered webbing strap assembly should immediately be removed from service.
- All webbing straps are solely for the purpose of load control, and should not be used for any type of lifting, raising, lowering or suspending applications.
- Never exceed the working load limit (WLL) of any webbing strap assembly.
- Subjecting webbing strap assemblies to loads beyond their stated WLL can result in damage to cargo, personal injury and/or death. The WLL of any webbing strap assembly is only as strong as its weakest point, including the point of attachment.
- Strength of webbing strap assemblies are significantly reduced if load path is not in a straight line.
- Handle extensions (lever bars/”cheater bars”/extenders) should not be used on hardware when tensioning.
- Refer to the applicable Federal, Provincial, State, and Local regulations.
- Refer to the Web Sling & Tie Down Association‘s (WSTDA) recommended operating practices for specific details.
